The News & Views is the official publication of the Baie-D’Urfé Citizens’ Association. It is delivered 10 months a year, to all member house-holds in Baie-D’Urfe except for the months of January and August.

In 1947, the Citizens’ Association launched a local monthly newspaper, the “News & Views”, a purely voluntary effort. Many families were concerned with problems regarding garbage pick-up, speeding, bad roads, and snow removal. The “News & Views” started as the vehicle to inform citizens and resolve such town problems.

The first publication of the News & Views was in July 1947. The editor was Miriam Nagley. Mr. and Mrs. Nagley ran off the copies of the publication in their kitchen, at their own expense, for several years. The second issue, August 1947, incorporated advertisers, all located in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, then the only nearby commercial area. Some are still serving our community. Contact “News & Views”
