Identifying Fraudulent Calls & Emails

Michelle Bissada, Director, CIBC Internal Audit

Hackers and fraudulent callers are getting better at their jobs, which all too often leaves us flustered, wondering if these calls and emails are genuine. The presentation incorporated real life examples to help us recognize and deal with these types of fraudulent calls.

Given the success of these webinars, the BDCA decided to organize another webinar and make it accessible to all Baie-D’Urfé residents. The zoom webinar Preparing to Garden – Science, Art and Wildlife was offered on May 9, 2021 and presented by Richard Gregson (please see below). It is the first CA webinar to be recorded and made accessible online on the CA’s YouTube channel.

As the CA is planning to offer more webinars to the Baie-D’Urfé community, addressing topics of special interest, it will much appreciate receiving your input. If you have any suggestion for a webinar, please do not hesitate to email us on : bdca@baiedurfe.ca

Bill 96, Zoom presentation by MNA Greg Kelley

In May 2021 the Provincial Government has introduced the above-mentioned Bill 96, tabled in the National Assembly and will be subject to public consultation this fall. Given the Covid 19 context, many of us may not have had a chance to understand what this new bill entails, its ramifications and the ways in which it will affect each of us in the short and long terms. Fortunately, we have a chance to get a better understanding of this upcoming bill thanks to our MNA, Greg Kelley who held a zoom presentation on August 24th for our residents to explain this bill and answer questions and concerns. Below is a recording of this webinar.

Preparing to Garden – Science, Art and Wildlife

By Richard Gregson, Baie-D’Urfé resident, member of the Fritz Garden group, a biologist and a passionate gardener who tries to bring science to the art of gardening.  He covered soil preparation, composting, lawns and lawn replacement, flowers, shrubs and trees, raised beds for vegetables and all with an emphasis on gardening for and with wildlife, offering tips and techniques when preparing spring and summer gardening. It was excellent: informative, clear and inspiring.
